As a credit union, we aren’t open to the public. Membership is limited to those who have a common bond. The field of membership for Ohio HealthCare FCU is limited to the following:

• Health maintenance organizations (HMO) medical facilities

• Home health care

• Hospices

• Hospitals

• Offices of chiropractors, dentists, licensed therapists, optometrists, physicians podiatrists, and psychologists

• Pain centers

• Paramedic services

• Pharmacy services

• Rehabilitation centers providing medical treatment or licensed psychological or physical therapy

Retirees from the above employment groups, volunteers of the above employment groups, members of the immediate family or household of a current Ohio HealthCare FCU member, spouses of persons who died while within the field of membership of Ohio HealthCare FCU and employees of Ohio HealthCare FCU.

Once you’ve joined Ohio HealthCare FCU, you’re in forever! Even if you’re no longer affiliated with the employer group, you can remain a member. And, your relatives can join as well.

A Longstanding Tradition

Ohio HealthCare FCU was chartered in 1973, to serve the financial needs of Riverside Methodist Hospital employees in Columbus. For years, the credit union operated out of a small office in the basement of the hospital. Eventually, RMH evolved into OhioHealth and also incorporated Grant Medical Center. We later opened another office inside GMC and a third office on Olentangy River Rd. As the credit union continued to expand, our administrative office was moved to Dublin, where it currently resides. In addition, we moved our RMH office to the main floor of their North Medical Building.

In 2005, we expanded our field of membership to include ALL healthcare industry professionals in Central Ohio. In order to better serve our healthcare members, we were later approved to serve the healthcare industry throughout the state of Ohio.

In 2014, we announced an innovative partnership with MedPro Federal Credit Union in Akron. MedPro was originally founded as Children’s Hospital Federal Credit Union in 1948, serving the Children’s Hospital in Akron. We joined forces to create a stronger entity to better serve healthcare employees in various parts of the state.

Throughout the year we support a variety of initiatives in the healthcare community in a variety of ways. Our staff has volunteered time at local telethons. Our branches have collected items for shelters, and made donations to local charities. We are always looking for ways to assist the healthcare community.
