Why You Should Be Making Purchases With Your Ohio HealthCare VISA® Card

Oftentimes, credit cards get a bad rap. They are linked with excessive debt, high rates, and the inevitable process of spending money before one earns it. The thing is, with financial responsibility and a plan in place, credit cards can offer substantial convenience, money management, and even earn you money!

Here are some ways your Ohio HealthCare VISA® is the ideal financial tool:

1. Rewards

We offer two types of VISA® cards – one that earns you cash back and one that earns you points.

Our ScoreCard Rewards Cash Back card pays you up to 1.00% on all of your purchases. It’s all based on annual spending. So, your first $1,000.00 will earn you 0.25%. Annual spending between $1,000.00 and $2,000.00 will earn you 0.50%. Annual spending between $2,000.00 and $3,000.00 will earn you 0.75%. Over $3,000.00 and you’ll be earning a full 1.00% cash back. We also offer double cash back on certain types of purchases through the year. We’ll automatically pay you the cash back you earned over the year in March by crediting your account. Cool, right? That means a smaller payment in April!

Our ScoreCard Rewards Point card pays you 1 point per $1.00 spent. In addition, we offer ScoreMore points, meaning that certain vendors throughout the year will earn you 2x, 3x, or 4x the points per $1.00 spent. We also offer double points on certain types of purchases through the year. Your points can be redeemed on travel, merchandise, and even on gas right at the pump! You even have the chance to redeem points and play online games for your chance to win something big!

2. Managing Your Cash Flow

Make a commitment to set yourself a monthly budget. Use your VISA® card for all transactions and pay it in full once you receive your bill. Through your online banking account you can see every purchase made with your card. Plus, you can download your transactions, categorize them, and see where you are spending your money. Want to see how much you’ve actually spent at Starbucks in the past month? Now is your chance!

As long as you commit to paying off your credit card every month, you’ll eliminate the need to constantly balance your checking account and rack up debt.

3. Protection

Your VISA® card offers you zero liability protection from unauthorized transactions. So, if fraud is committed using your card, you aren’t liable for the charges. Yep, we’ve got your back.

You can also set up automated alerts on your card. These alerts can be delivered via email or text. You have the ability to set a minimum purchase threshold and you’ll be notified about every purchase over that threshold. Other alerts include if your card is used outside the United States or made online or by phone. Set up your alerts here .

Our cards come with a variety of other perks, to include:

  • Travel Accident Insurance

  • 90-Day Product Protection

  • Identity Theft Protection

4. Convenience

Face it – credit cards are extremely convenient. No need to find an ATM to get cash. Simply insert your chip card at the checkout and go.

Or, if you are an Apple Pay or Samsung Pay user, set your card up and go digital.

Remember, it’s important that you have a plan in place and a commitment to pay off your card on a regular basis so you don’t get caught in the trap of racking up debt. If you’ve already racked up debt on another card, we’d love to help you pay it off! Our credit card rates are some of the lowest on the planet, plus we offer NO BALANCE TRANSFER FEES! Feel free to contact us directly if you have questions.
